Setting up a Business

Under the Mozambican Commercial Law it is not compulsory for a limited liability company to be incorporated jointly with a national partner. The Decree-Law 2/2005, which is part of the Mozambique Commercial Code, offers foreign or Mozambican individuals and companies six different ways to set up their business:

1. Partnerships
2. Limited Partnerships
3. Capital and Industrial Companies;
4. Private Limited Company (Lda)
5. Private Limited Company with a single quota holder
6. Public Limited Companies (SA)
